PattayaPattaya is a coastal city at the Gulf of Thailand. It is about 80 km south of Bangkok. The city is known by tourists for the "Walking Street", a long street with many bars, where prositutes are widely available. But there are also sites that will attract regular tourists like the floating market and Sukhawadee. There is more of interest for this group, but that will not be covered on this website. |
Pattaya Floating MarketThe floating market of Pattaya is a market for food, art and clothes. There is some entertainment included as well. The market is less floating than the name suggests. There are a number of buildings on wooden poles, more or less grouped as islands and connected by bridges. Boats are used to get tourists around and to as sales platform.
